From Your Administrative Team
Greetings Connect K8 Families,

We are so excited to welcome visitors back for our first in-person Exhibition since Fall of 2019! For those joining us in-person, we hope you enjoy and feel the magic of this event as much as we do. Our student presenters thank you in advance for being active audiences to their hard work and demonstrations of their learning! We are also excited that our Remote and Autonomous families will have the opportunity to present virtually!

As members of our community continue to celebrate the Hannukah, check out this collection of stories, videos, recipes and resources about the Festival of Lights from PJ Library!

Finally, one of our students, Violet, wants you to know she and some friends are working on a student-driven project, by creating an unofficial DV newspaper! Read her message to other students below:

"Our student Violet in core 4 in Rita's class is making a Newspaper for the school and she would love to hear all of your awesome Ideas. You can email her your ideas for an article or an article you would like to be in the newspaper. You can email her at violet_schell@student.davincischools.org. Thanks, hope you had a good thanksgiving"

Take Good Care,
Kaitlin and Tami
Exhibition!
12/7 and 12/9 4:30-5:15pm and 5:30-6:15pm

We shared in a special Exhibition newsletter (sent on 11/12) that we are excited to host in-person Exhibition this semester! Exhibition is one of our signature practices where students have an opportunity to show what they know, by presenting their in-class project work with an audience of families, friends, and community members! Each class’s exhibition will feel unique and tailored to their specific project experience. Sometimes students present a product or other deliverable, sometimes guests are given tours by student docents, and sometimes there’s a performance or other interactive experience for guests to enjoy. We can’t wait to experience this special event with you!

Your teacher should have shared with you your student’s presentation time, your time slot to be on campus, and what to expect during the evening. Please only plan to be on campus for the duration of your time slot (either 4:30-5:15 p.m. or 5:30-6:15 p.m.). During your time slot on campus, you are encouraged to act as an audience for as many students on campus as possible – not just your own child’s presentation. Please also refrain from using your cellphone for calls/texts while in presentation spaces and please carefully supervise younger children at all times.

All visitors 2 years of age and older must show proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72 hrs in order to attend Exhibition. Please arrive 15-20 minutes early to your designated time slot in order to be checked in and ready to enter at the beginning of your time slot.

We ask student presenters to dress in “Exhibition attire” to give them an opportunity to feel professional in this environment. Button-up shirts, slacks, ties, knee-length dresses, skirts, and dress shoes are all considered Exhibition attire. If you have Exhibition attire that no longer fits your learner and you’d like to donate to our “Exhibition closet,” you can drop-off clothes to the front office the week of the 29th. If you would like to browse and borrow Exhibition attire from our Exhibition closet, you can visit the front office anytime before your child’s Exhibition event.
