ChildCareEd is now an approved professional development provider for educators in Georgia.
This means Georgia educators may use eligible ChildCareEd courses toward their professional learning and certificate renewal requirements when the course content aligns with their certification field, assignment, and professional development needs.
ChildCareEd’s online courses provide flexible, convenient training opportunities that support educators in meeting ongoing professional learning requirements while enhancing their knowledge and skills.
This approval allows ChildCareEd to support Georgia educators who hold renewable teaching, service, or leadership certificates and need professional learning hours for certificate renewal. In Georgia, certificate renewal requirements vary based on an educator’s certificate type, employment status, and local district requirements. Many educators satisfy renewal requirements through professional learning activities approved by their employing school system or the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC).
ChildCareEd courses can help educators pursue professional growth in areas such as child development, classroom management, health and safety, family engagement, and other topics relevant to effective educational practice.
Educators should always confirm their individual certificate renewal requirements through the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) and their employing school district before selecting courses to ensure the training meets state and local renewal requirements.

🎨 Little Hands, Big Lessons

“You Help Me Grow” Handprint Card 🌱
Give each child a piece of paper with the words:
“You help me grow!”
Have children decorate the card with handprints, drawings, stickers, or bright colors. Teachers can help children write or dictate one sentence about someone special.
Prompt ideas:
💙 “Thank you for helping me.”
💙 “I love when we play together.”
💙 “You make me feel happy.”
💙 “You help me learn and grow.”
This activity supports creativity, gratitude, fine motor skills, and emotional expression.
My Special Person Drawing 🖍️
Invite children to draw a picture of a special person in their life. Ask simple questions such as:
💙 “What do you like to do together?”
💙 “How does this person help you?”
💙 “What makes this person special?”
Write the child’s words under the drawing. This helps children connect language, feelings, and family relationships.
Helping Hands Celebration 🤝
Have children trace and decorate their hands. On each handprint, write one way a special adult helps them.
Examples:
💙 Gives hugs
💙 Reads stories
💙 Makes food
💙 Plays with me
💙 Helps me feel better
Display the handprints on a bulletin board with the title:
“Helping Hands Help Us Grow”
