The position of the left leg of the heh
The left leg of the
heh should be aligned with the left tip of its roof. If the leg is in the wrong place, the letter is
pasul. One solution is to erase the part of roof that extends beyond the leg, or, for a
sefer Torah (which does not require
k'sidron), to erase and rewrite the leg. When it is not possible to fix the problem, the letter is kosher
bedieved as long as the leg is below the left half of the roof. The space between the left leg and the roof should not be greater than the thickness of the roof. The leg should not be too close to the roof, either; at the very least, there should be a distance between them that is visible from close up. The lower part of the leg should align with the bottom of the right leg.
