PICTURE OF THE WEEK
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
This past Shabbat the 8th grade took part in the annual Yachad Shabbaton. For weeks, students have been counting down to this highly anticipated event. We thank the Young Israel of Jamaic Estates and the entire Jamaica Estates community for welcoming us for a special Shabbat. We began Shabbat with a beautiful davening followed by an exciting icebreaker. This was the students' first opportunity to meet and talk to the Yachad participants. It was easy to see that everyone was hitting it off right away. Usually, it isn't until after dinner that the singing, cheering, and games begin, but our students couldn't wait. Our incredible 8th grade class demonstrated tremendous ruach and jumped into the Yachad spirit of inclusion by singing and cheering with their peers and new Yachad friends. Students ate meals, davened, and sang and danced with Yachad members. This overwhelming excitement continued throughout the entire Shabbaton. Kol HaKavod to Tehila Rabanipour and Rami Wachstock for delivering beautiful divrei Torah during the shabbaton. Thank you to all faculty and administration who joined us for Shabbat. Special thank you to Mrs. Allison Hus, our student activities director, for coordinating the weekend. Our 8th graders will be reunited with Yachad students at an upcoming event, held in school.
