PICTURE OF THE WEEK
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
This past week, the 7th and 8th grade students at Yeshiva Har Torah had the privilege to read from the very special Sefer Torah that was written in memory of our Yeshiva's founder and Dean, Rabbi Meir Bilitzky, זכר צדיק לברכה, whose Yahrzeit was this week. Rabbi Lawrence Teitelman, the current Rabbi at the Young Israel of New Hyde Park, joined the students and faculty for Tefilat Shacharit and shared with them how proud Rabbi Bilitzky would be to see how seriously our students participate in Tefilah. He pointed out that the beautiful מעיל (cover) that covers and protects the Sefer Torah, which was donated by the greater YHT family, represents Rabbi Bilitzky's passion for making sure that our Torah life would always be beautiful inside and out. Rabbi Teitelman's Bracha to the students was that we should always strive to follow in the path set by Rabbi Bilitzky to make our commitment to Torah learning and living as beautiful and as meaningful as we can.
