YHT'S 29TH ANNUAL DINNER!
The unforeseen power outage over this past Shabbat did not stop YHT from producing an epic 29th Annual Journal Dinner! This past Tuesday night, there was a strong representation of our parent body, alumni, 8 th graders, and guests, totaling over 600 people. The room was full of our special YHT spirit and camaraderie! Yeshiva Har Torah thanks its supporters and parents for making the evening such a success and congratulates this year's Honorees:
Emil and Ilana Ghatan - Guests of Honor
Udi and Dr. Jules Winokur - Pillars of Jewish Education
Ilana Talitian - Aishet Chayil Awardee
Ms. Cindy Kopman - Faculty Award for Distinguished Service

Yeshiva Har Torah also saluted the Class of 1998 who celebrated their 20th year anniversary since graduation.
At the end of the evening, we announced our plans for a building expansion to accommodate current Yeshiva Har Torah families, as well as to open additional space for the many families who wish to join our unique Yeshiva.
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
Yom Iyun in Memory of Mrs. Tess Kaylie, ע"ה
On Taanit Esther, our 7 th and 8 th graders participated in a Yom Iyun in memory of Mrs. Tess Kaylie, dedicated to the theme of Chesed in Megilat Esther. Rabbi Menchel started the day off with a D'var Torah that stressed how we nullify the effects of Amalek by engaging in acts of Chesed. This is exemplified in the Mitzvot of Purim: joining together with family and friends at the Seudat Purim, exchanging Mishloach Manot help to create an atmosphere of friendship and making sure that we are sensitive to those who need our help the most by giving Matanot L'Evyonim. The students then participated in two mini-sessions given by our rebbeim and morot on "Reaching Out to Others" and "Unity". The students then had an opportunity to participate in "Chesed in Action" by reading Purim stories to the younger grade students. Unfortunately, Mr. Kaylie was unable to join us. However, Rabbi Menchel shared with the students some of Mr. Kaylie’s memories of his mother and the influence that she had on him and on others to be concerned for the well being of everyone.

PESACH CANDY SALE - DEADLINE THIS FRIDAY!
Purim is over and we are full swing into our annual Miss Chocolate/Bartons Passover candy sale ! Your child has been sent home with a large envelope containing materials for this lucrative PTA fundraiser. We urge you to participate - if everyone sells just one item, the school greatly benefits.
Note that you and your friends and family can now place online orders (in addition to, or instead of, selling door-to-door) by following the instructions below.  This year's deadline for submitting orders (online or to the YHT office) is this Friday, March 9, 2018. If you will be bringing your order form to the office, rather than ordering online, please be sure to fill the form out completely (make sure to indicate your prize request) and include full payment. All checks should be made out to YHT-PTA.
Thanks in advance for your support!

For more details, see the email that went out last week. If you have any questions, please contact Sarit Ebrani ( gottoeat@aol.com )/ 516-570-2506 or Sherli Mahgerefteh ( sstar1011@aol.com )/ 516-567-7769.
WE NEED YOUR SIZE!
Although the Celebrate Israel Parade is not until June, we need to order the t-shirts shortly. This is NOT an RSVP for the parade, but completing this form  will greatly assist us in anticipating the number of each shirt size to order for students and families.

If your children and/or family are planning on marching in the parade, please click on the link above to indicate what sizes/quantities of t-shirts you think you will need. We will do our best to accommodate the requests. (Please include all family members WHO ARE MARCHING , including those in grades 4-8).
