PICTURE OF THE WEEK
ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
Grades 1 through 6 participated in special Sukkot workshops this past week with Rabbi Menchel. The classes have been learning all about Sukkot and had a chance to answer questions and learn important Halachot about the mitzvah of lulav and etrog - all in Ivrit! On what side of the lulav do the aravot go? What deeper meaning is there to this mitzvah? How do you pick up the etrog? Why is Sukkot so close to Yom Kippur? Aren't there enough days off from school already? Ask any student and they will know! Rabbi Menchel explained the meaning behind this mitzvah and everyone is ready for Sukkot! Wishing everyone a Chag Sameach!

CHOCOLATE SALE
It's time again for one of our most lucrative - and delicious - fundraisers of the year: the chocolate sale!  Unless you opted out of the fundraiser, your child will be given a box of chocolate to sell on September 21.  Any students who were absent or were not in class at the time of distribution can go to the office to get a box from Sivan. If you receive a box and do not want to participate in the sale, please return the  full, unopened  box as soon as possible to the school office. Please indicate who the box is from, and make sure your child sees Sivan personally so we can make sure to take your name off the list. As a reminder, once the box is opened, it cannot be returned. Each box is worth $60 (30 bars at $2/each).  CHECKS MADE OUT TO YHT-PTA ARE THE PREFERRED METHOD OF PAYMENT  - you may include payment for all boxes on one check. See prize sheet below! If you have any questions, email  ptachocolate@hartorah.org.
