Nothing Except...

Hello friends.
Great to meet you here in this way and in this season of Advent.
Advent means “coming”, “return” or “arrival.”
Advent marks the beginning of the Christian Year.
I know you thought it was January 1st….but it’s actually earlier for us.
Our faith has a way of asking us to step out in faith earlier so we can be the light that shines the way forward to the world.
I know everyone is distracted with the secular busy of the holiday season.
Perhaps, we are too.
But what if we chose to embrace “nothing except.”
Yes, “nothing except.”

I want to invite you to journey with me through “Nothing Except” in the three days of devotions that I have with you.

In preparation, I invite you to listen to two songs: Is He Worthy by Chris Tomlin and There was Another in the Fire by Hillsong. Both songs can be found easily on YouTube.

Lean into the devotional scriptures.
Read them.
Pause. Say to yourself, “Nothing Except”.
Journal what comes up for you.

My “Nothing Except” is…Psalm 27:13-14 NKJV

13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.

14 Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!

Advent is filled with so many promises.
I will accept “nothing except” all He has promised.
What about you? What is your “nothing except”?

Because He is faithful, so will I.
