Welcome |
Greetings
,
We pray that all is well with you and yours this
summer!
Our guest preacher this Sunday for both services
will be Rev. Anthony Moore, Pastor of
Carolina Missionary Baptist Church.
Pastor Anthony E. Moore is a native of Baltimore,
Maryland and his lovely wife, First Lady, Cynthia A. Moore a native
of Dallas, Texas. Pastor Moore has served Carolina Missionary
Baptist Church since 1987 and has been proclaiming the Gospel of
Jesus Christ for over twenty-five years. Pastor and First Lady
Moore are the proud parents of three children, Sharnessa, Jamal and
Joshua.
Carolina Church is a Bible-Based and Purpose Driven Ministry. The
Carolina Ministry seeks to meet the needs of ordinary people in a
holistic way. Pastor Moore believes that people have to be met at
their level of need. There are so many people who are in search of
something real. Ours is not a "cookie-cutter" ministry, he often
says. If you want the Gospel made real and relevant to everyday
living then this ministry is what you're looking for. And if it
isn't we'll help you find the right church for you.
Pastor Moore possesses a passion and zeal for the Gospel to be
spread throughout the world. And yet he is sensitive enough to
realize that the Word of God has to be preached to the unsaved
masses right in our backyard. Our neighbors, our friends, our
family members need to know who Jesus is and they need to know that
what He has done for others is also available for them. Pastor
Moore makes no apologies for the truth of the Gospel; for it is
this truth, that will set the captive free and loose those who are
bound. Read more . . .
See you on Sunday! Come prepared to heare a Word from the man of
God!

Today |
There
are two days in every week about which we shouldn't worry.
One isyesterday, with its mistakes and
cares, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our
control.
The other day is tomorrow, with its
possible adversities and blunders. Until its sun rises, we have no
stake in tomorrow, for it is yet unborn.
That leaves only one day - today. Anyone
can fight the battle of just one day. It is only when we add the
burden of those two eternities - yesterday and tomorrow - that
contentment will escape us.

Prayer Requests & Praise
Reports
Please keepSister Patricia ('Trish)
Lanier in your prayers. 'Trish is the daughter of
the late Trustee Lawrence and Gladys Lanier. Many of you will
remember Gladys was a part of Metropolitan's Music Ministry. 'Trish
was scheduled for extensive surgery on Thursday, August 5, 2010, in
Baltimore, Maryland. She is confident is God's Word and her
spirits are a blessing to all who speak with her. Although phone
calls are discouraged at this time, we do encourage you to flood
her home with cards and words of encouragement. Her recovery is
expected to be lengthy; your cards will remind her of the love and
support of her Church Family.
Elder
Diane Day continues to recuperate at home and
Servant Wilma Tilson continues to seek
treatment and care. They, too, covet your prayers and will be
blessed to hear from you: Mrs. Diane Day email: dfday_1978@verizon.net. Dr. Wilma M. Tilson

MCDC
Makes a Difference in Largo |
Congratulations to the MCDC Employment Services
Program on successful outreach in the Largo Community last Saturday
during their 50+ Career Expo offered at the Largo Kettering
Library. Two participant letters follow:
Dear Ms. Tully:
There wasn't enough room on the Evaluation Form, so I thought I
would send a personal note to all of you. The MCDC 50+ Career Expo
was the most educational and informational experience I've had in a
long time. And best of all, I felt the presence of the Lord when I
entered the room, and that wonderful feeling was there until the
seminar/workshop ended.
I truly appreciated that all of the presenters were extremely
knowledgeable and had documentation to support the advice they were
giving the participants. I've shared the information with my wife
(who was unable to attend), and she too is appreciative of all the
materials that I brought home.
Once again, thank you for caring, and thank you for sharing.
God's Blessings On Your Ministry,
George Clarkson (Look for us as visitors one Sunday)
Dear Ms. Tully,
Thank you and may heaven smile upon you for taking your time and
using your resources to help us in our journey to re-employment. I
believe this to be an incredibly important and critical role for
the church. Many churches continue to request tithes, special
offerings for one thing or another and even membership dues for
church ministries but some of us are hurting financially and you
can't necessarily look at us and tell. So, again, thank you for
being proactive and sensitive.
To work all week for people seeking employment and then to
volunteer after hours is a servant responding to a call; again
thank you, the Metropolitan Community Development Corporation, Inc.
and the Metropolitan Baptist Church. And, please pass my warm
appreciation on to all the volunteers who worked in support of your
vision.
Of course, please feel free to share my resume as appropriate. I
will follow-up on the resources you provided.
Sincerely,
Constance Todd |
