What To Do?

"So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless."
1 Corinthians 15:58

What a wonderful thought! "Nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless"; even our staying at home! Although we might not see it, our staying at home is being used by the Lord to keep ourselves and others safe and healthy. As the days continue to go by, however, it can become increasingly more difficult to come up with ideas of things to do at home to keep ourselves entertained and sane.
Here are a few ideas. #1-Reaching out to others through the use of various forms of technology has been popular. There have been many positive results from it. #2-A "Moms Happy Hour" (or any variation), where on a warm afternoon or evening, Moms gather by bringing out lawn chairs, set 10 feet apart, bring some wine and have time to just relax and chat. #3- Getting out on a nice day for a walk in also good; just mind your distance from others. Then you can share your experience with family and friends by text, email or phone call. #4- Another popular activity is reorganizing you closets. (Remember to set aside items for when the Red Bird trailers open again.) If you take before and after photos, they can be fun to share. #5- I have decided to tackle my much dreaded and much put off jobs of getting my photo albums together. I have been sharing photos of my children when they were small with them (usually through text messages). It's been fun. #6 - Try an online class or learning a new skill. I just tried making bread. #7- You can share your own "stay-at-home" ideas with family and friends. The possibilities are almost limitless.
And, in case you're wondering how any of this is work for the Lord, consider this: By completing all of these otherwise lesser things to do, when this "stay-at-home" time is over, you will be ready to take on the "bigger," more important tasks that much more efficiently. Finding any way to use the time that God gives us well will always please the Lord.

Heavenly Father, thank you for helping us to find creative ways to use the time you give us wisely. Amen.
