Daily Devotion for Wednesday, March 18
Every so often, you run across some song lyrics for a time such as this. Chris Tomlin recorded this contemporary Christian praise song back in 2010 - in fact, it won "Worship Song of the Year" the following year. The name of the song is "Our God," and I hope you'll take a moment to really take the lyrics into your heart today (use the YouTube link below).
We often focus only on our current situation, our current hardships, and our current problems and stresses. We say we believe that God is in control, but often we don't act like it. We hear about increasing numbers of Coronavirus cases, and we panic. We're told we must practice social distancing, and we wonder if we will survive the feeling of isolation. We wash our hands (not to mention wring our hands) a zillion times a day, we hoard toilet paper and other necessities, and we worry and fret. We're used to believing we have control over every little detail of life, and suddenly we find out that we don't.
Could there be a lesson for us in all of this? Chris Tomlin shares a song that reminds us of the greatness of God and the healing power of God. "Our God is greater, our God is stronger; God you are higher than any other. Our God is healer, awesome in power, Our God. Our God."
Won't you take a moment now to calm your soul, to refresh your heart, and to worship our awesome God by listening to (and perhaps singing along with!) Chris Tomlin - "Our God."
Have a great day - and remember to give God the glory!
