Taking the Gospel to prayer
How frequently do we go to God to seek forgiveness while we give ourselves permission to hold a grudge? Jesus is clear that we cannot expect God to give us what we withhold from others. It isn't because God has a grudge. Rather, it reminds us that while God is all-merciful, He is also just.
Let us pray the Lord's Prayer today conscious of not being "babblers". Be aware of God's holiness and, yet, we may call Him Father. Be aware of asking for the needs of this day and participating in forgiveness. Be intentional about the temptation that needs to be avoided.
