Maundy Thursday Dinner and Liturgy
The Maundy Thursday Agapè Meal and Liturgy will be celebra-ted a little differently than previously advertized.
In previous years, because of accessibility issues, the Washing of Feet was observed in the Parish Hall after dinner after which we moved up to the Church for the conclusion of the Liturgy. This issue is no longer present which allows us to more richly celebrate the last night of the life of Our Lord.
After the Agapè Meal itself, the Liturgy will continue in the Church, the elevator being available. The Washing of Feet, Holy Communion, the Altar of Repose and Stripping of the Altar will take place upstairs in the Nave and Sanctuary.
This modification of Maundy Thursday in years past will also allow us to more fully express these rites within our Anglo-Catholic heritage and tradition. While change can be a challenge, it can also allow us to live more fully into who we are and who we are called to be. Thanks for being flexible.
