Jeremiah 1:6-8
6 “Alas, Sovereign Lord,” I said, “I do not know how to speak; I am too young.” 7 But the Lord said to me, “Do not say, ‘I am too young.’ You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. 8 Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the Lord.

Dear Lord,
You have commanded us to proclaim your Word to all people. Though this command may sound simple enough, it is a daunting task. It’s much too easy to come up with excuses as to why we can’t tell others about your love. We don’t know enough, we’re not brave enough, or like Jeremiah, we don’t know how to speak, or we’re not old enough. Forgive us when we try to get out of preaching your Word, Lord, and remind us that we have nothing to be afraid of; not with you on our side. You are our rescuer and our strength. With you, we have nothing to fear. Give us the boldness to speak your Word to all people without ceasing, and work faith in their hearts that they may share our joy in eternity. In your name we pray, Amen.
