Ohio was taking on a formidable opponent this weekend: the best team in the Mid-American Conference, Miami. Despite no one betting on the Bobcats to win its series, they swept at the end of the weekend, putting an end to Miami’s undefeated streak in conference play. Ohio lost its first game Friday despite being up two runs heading into the bottom of the seventh inning. However, Saturday’s doubleheader fared much better for the Bobcats. Mackensie Kohl pitched 8.1 innings out of a grueling 11-inning game, and Caitlin Fogue delivered the winning RBI in the top of the 11th. The Bobcats then roared back from a deficit in game two Saturday to sweep the series. Click here to read the full recap of the weekend.

This column contains minor spoilers for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin.

Opinion: Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, which was developed by Team Ninja and published by Square Enix, has been associated with chaos ever since its debut. The teaser trailer established its protagonist, Jack Garland, as a humorous character right from the beginning, and it’s a theme that’s explored even more fully throughout the game. Throughout Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, Jack shows his frustration when side characters slow him down, and he punches villains in the middle of their monologues. His rage also contributes to the game’s humor, which in and of itself isn’t perfect. Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin is not flawless in its execution or storytelling, but its humor and intriguing writing make for an overall entertaining experience. Music will be returning to the bricks of Athens in a hybrid format this year after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the annual Music Industry Summit online last year. The summit will feature a slew of musicians across genres, including Athens-based folk band Caamp, Japanese Breakfast’s Michelle Zauner and Noelle Scaggs of Fitz and the Tantrums. Josh Antonuccio, director of the summit, said the planning for the event takes up to eight to 10 months. Despite all of the lengthy planning, the event continuously attracts music fans and students involved in music or music production in the area.
