GOVERNOR POLIS EXTENDS SCHOOL BUILDING CLOSURES TO APRIL 30
Governor Polis announced today that school buildings will be closed at least through April 30. Jeffco Public Schools recognizes this directive and will continue with our Remote Learning and Work Plan through April 30. Governor Polis also acknowledged today it was highly unlikely schools would be returning for in-person learning for this school year.

Jeffco Public Schools continues to monitor this situation and will make announcements related to our plans for the extension of remote learning and end-of-year events at a later date. We appreciate your patience in this changing environment.

FROM INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY: SCHOOLOGY OUTAGES, SEESAW GUIDE
Schoology Outages
As you may be aware, Schoology, one of Jeffco’s key remote learning platforms, has experienced technical issues for the past few days. Due to the increased remote learning activities taking place across the country, Schoology reports their usage has increased to 400% more than their previous 10-year peak. They are working on solutions to quickly scale their platform’s availability and mitigate performance issues in the future.

The Jeffco IT team will relay updates about Schoology’s status directly to staff. The Ed Tech team is working directly with teachers who rely on Schoology for the delivery of instructional materials to find alternatives during this outage. If you are experiencing issues with Schoology, you can view the Schoology status dashboard , or check in with your student’s teacher to determine if a work-around is needed.

Thank you for your ongoing flexibility and understanding as we all work together to overcome the hiccups we encounter on this remote learning journey.

Seesaw Guide for Parents
Linked here is a Jeffco resource for parents to help navigate Seesaw, a tool many of our younger students are using for remote learning. It includes a description of classroom and family apps, directions to log in, and support for navigating the dashboard and completing activities.
NEW STUDENT ENROLLMENT IN JEFFCO PUBLIC SCHOOLS
While Jeffco has transitioned to remote learning for all students, we are still accepting enrollments and registering new students who want to attend school in Jeffco for this school year (2019 - 20) and next (2020 - 21). We are aware there are families living in Jefferson County who attend a school outside of Jeffco Public Schools with limited access to comprehensive remote learning options.

Beginning Thursday 4/2, families who wish to enroll in Jeffco Public Schools should call or email Enrollment Services directly to complete the preliminary steps. Once in our system, families will be directed to contact the registrar at their neighborhood school to finish the process and begin engaging in remote learning through their neighborhood school. Please share this information with any family who might wish to enroll in Jeffco Public Schools.
