Hebrew: paniym [paw-neem’]: Before [1117], face [190], presence [76], in its most basic meaning, this noun refers to the "face" of something. First, it refers to the "face" of a human being: "And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him …" (Gen. 17:3). In a more specific application, the word represents the look on one's face, or one's "countenance": Pāneh can also be used of the surface or visible side of a thing, as in Gen. 1:2: "The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters." In other contexts, the word represents the "front side" of something:

I hear so often that one really does not know what is in a man’s heart. The Bible tells us differently. It takes a couple of steps, but God can’t be fooled or deceived or mocked. What comes out of a man comes out of his heart. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. If we just take a moment to listen, you will find out what is in a man’s heart. His tongue will reveal it. There is nothing hidden from God. He has given us wisdom in every area to control what goes on in our lives. What a great way to run a family, business or other enterprise. LISTEN!!!

We can meet the right people, know who to trust in business decisions, know what is going on in our children’s life, or our friend’s life. I counsel folks at my office and listening is the key to finding the root cause of a problem or an answer to a direction they are looking. Eventually all will be revealed, and the answer is forthcoming.

Christians question the Bible and their ability to perform the task they are expecting. We will know quickly why something is not working. It is always a heart issue. What are you hiding in your heart? It is something going down that should not be or something not going down but should be. In most cases we know what needs to change but are we willing to do it. There is a simple answer, and it is knocking at your heart’s door. Repent [turn around] and be willing to change what you allow in your heart.  Put good things in and your life will blossom.
