Eagles Point Ministry DBA A Business Man's Perspective

"Edification"

Ephesians 4:29 (KJV) Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Ephesians 4:29 (NASB) 29 Let no unwholesome word proceed from your mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace [Gods favor] to those who hear.

Ephesians 4:29 (NLT2) Don’t use foul or abusive language. Let everything you say be good and helpful, so that your words will be an encouragement to those who hear them.

Ephesians 4:29 (GW) Don't say anything that would hurt {another person}. Instead, speak only what is good so that you can give help wherever it is needed. That way, what you say will help those who hear you.

Our tongue can tear someone down or build them up. No greater place is this seen than in the home. More destructive words are spoken in the security of the home than even in the marketplace. The impact is many folds greater because the home is the ‘Belief System” of the children and even the spouses.  The home is God’s Place, given to man whereby we can live, move and have our being. We grow up and are molded by Words and thoughts and the power of the tongue.

What are we saying to our spouses, children and friends that can impact their future, both good and negative? The privacy of the home is like the Cloud in the computing world. Everything you say is being recorded and listened to by your enemy, the devil and your heavenly father. Nothing ever said escapes them. They are both spirits, not flesh and blood. One is the giver of life through your words, the other the distributor of death with your words. Proverbs 18:21 (NIV)The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.  When my children were growing up, I never let them walk out the door until I had spoken the Word over them, individually, looking them in the eyes. [“You are strong and healthy and Wise as Solomon and God blesses everything you put your hands to. Now, go put your hands to something”] That message has come true in my family. It can happen in yours as well. God is not a respecter of persons.

Words can be earth shattering simply by committing them to the Lord and asking for Wisdom to say the right things. It is never too late. Do this every morning to start the day off right. Hide Gods Word in your heart by reading and meditating on it [Psalm 119:11,105]and you will be amazed at the influence this will have on all who are a part of your sanctuary and even the world around you. Change it!!!!
