Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love
“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Romans 8:38-39, NIV
How can God love me? How can He love someone who fails Him? These were the questions I kept asking myself in the fall of 2018. I was in this cycle of sin that I thought I would never get out of. I bought the lie that I was a failure and God didn’t love me because I was living in sin and knew what I was doing was wrong. I kept myself from talking to Him and reading His Word because I told myself I wasn’t good enough and He couldn’t love me. I felt so far from God and, as days went by, I felt farther away from Him. That was a dark time in my life.
And when I fail now, sometimes those questions creep into my head. I start believing that God doesn’t love me and want me when I fall short. When that happens, I remind myself of Romans 8:38-39. That there is nothing on this planet, nothing that I do or that can happen to me, where I am separated from God’s love. Even when I was stuck in the cycle of sin in 2018, God still loved me through it all! His love was never taken from me or left me! How amazing is that even when we sin repeatedly, God doesn’t stop loving us. There is nothing that we do that would make Him stop loving us!
If you are struggling with sin and feel like God doesn’t love you, don’t believe that! God loves you so much! He sent His only son to die on the Cross for you. And you don’t have to stay trapped in that cycle of sin! Romans 6:6, NIV states “For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.” It means that you are free from the bondage of sin because Jesus died on the cross and has forgiven you!
I am praying for you, here for you and hoping you find encouragement in my words, but mostly that you find hope in God and His Word!
