Today's announcements:
-The sun did come up today. I wasn’t sure if it would. For your teachers and I this was devastating news. We are in this profession to work with students and help them grow in their learning and their faith. Like educators across the Commonwealth and nation, we are adjusting to a new normal – distance education. It will be with us through the rest of the school year.

-I know yesterday’s news brings up a huge number of questions. I don’t have answers to all those yet but will work to fill in the blanks in the coming days. Some decisions about how we proceed are made by the Diocese, others are left to each school.

-Less than 30 minutes after the governor’s announcement yesterday, there was a conference call among all superintendents and principals in the Diocese. We’re working together to collaborate and share best practices of distance learning.

-At 10:00 this morning, I've organized a video chat with all HCA teachers. It's the first chance for us all to see each other since the mandatory closings began. We look forward to sharing ideas about how we maximize learning opportunities for our students through the remainder of the school year.

-Today’s E-blast includes some survey questions. I’m excited to try out this function of Constant Contact. I’m eager to get parent feedback on our early distance learning progress.

-For now, I've removed the important dates section of my E-blasts. It's safe to assume virtually everything is cancelled. As I know more, I'll add in any events that can still occur.

-You are all in my prayers and I miss you all.
