Personal Message

Pastor Karen

"This is the Season to be Jolly"

Ah, the sounds of Christmas are here.  In the malls, on the television and of course on the radio.  I just love Christmas music.  It does well getting me into the true spirit of what this season is really all about.  Not simply about giving gifts to friends and love ones.  But rather the Greatest Gift of All from the One who loves us all.  This is the seasom where we , are to remember the birth of Gods only Son on earth so that He may be the Savior of the world from their sins.  This is the season where John 3:16 hits home.  For God so love the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not die but have everlasting life.  The songs are good but nothing does it like that verse.  I want to encourage everyone to remember that Jesus is the reason for the season.  It is easy to get caught up in the trees, the lights, the gifts and even the music and forget that Christ is the sole purpose of our celebrations.

This coming December the Dallas International Street Church will be celebrating 15 Years of ministering Matthew 25:35,36; "I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothe me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you visisted me".  15 years of witnessing Gods life changing power at work restoring hope, dignity and purpose in the lives of those who lost it all.  After all these years the compassionate heart of DISC founder Pastor Karen Dudley has not changed, but rather has grown more sensitive to the hurting in our city. We would like to invite you to come out and celebrate with us on Sunday December 2, 2012 @ 6pm right here at DISC.

Saturday November 17 DISC participated in The National Day of Hunger and Homeless Awareness Week alongside several churches and organizations. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet the needs of the needy in our community by providing meals, blankets, jackets and hygeine packs.  We were able to serve over 150 people and many made professions of faith.  Later that day we delivered 30 packaged Boxes of Love that included the entire Thanksgiving meal to families in the community.  We give much thanks to all the volunteers and those who provided resources.  Special thanks to "Here's Life Inner City" for providing the Boxes of Love.

Please allow us to introduce you to Blair Butler.  Six months ago Blair came to the Dallas International Street Church broken, lost and addicted to crack cocaine.  Living on the streets Blair had finally come to the end of himself.  Blair joined the DISC Residential Discipleship Program and after six months Blairs' life has been completely transformed. At 51 years young Blair has submitted his life to Jesus Christ and  now finds his life on track.  On Jaunuary 22, 2012 Balir will be attending El Centro Community College to study Business Administration.
