Dear friends,
The Rev. Dr. Tisha Brown will step down as director of the Damascus Project at the end of the year. Tisha has developed a passion for gluten-free baking and in the new year plans a wider launch of her business, Tisha’s Delicious Bakery.
Tisha has served the Wisconsin Conference for eight years, faithfully leading the Catalyst Grant Team and directing the Lay Academy. Before the pandemic, she co-launched the Damascus Project, an online collaboration with the Minnesota Conference designed to provide leadership training and develop ministry skills. Tisha has worked diligently to nurture this virtual learning community and has left us well positioned to equip future leaders.
In December, you will have an opportunity express your gratitude to Tisha and offer your best wishes for the future at a virtual farewell gathering. Tisha brought an amazing skill set to the life of our Conference, including a passion for lay leadership, creative out-of-the-box thinking, biblical and theological rootedness, and endless ideas about how the Church can engage the wider community. Her spirit of curiosity, joy, and resilience have been wonderful gifts to staff colleagues, and her ever-widening definition of “Church” has inspired countless people in the Wisconsin Conference and beyond.
We are launching the search for a new director today, with hopes for a smooth transition at year's end.
Blessings in Christ,
