The last collegiate game for Damon West as starting quarterback for North Texas against Texas A&M resulted in a career-ending injury. His all-American path took a very unexpected turn towards substance use and ultimately a 65-year prison sentence. Then, a seed of hope entered his life in the form of a fellow prisoner. Today, he is a bestselling author, addressing systemic racism and criminal justice reform through his philanthropic initiatives, and inspiring whole communities with his message of reaching your full potential, overcoming the unthinkable and inspiring everyone to Be A Coffee Bean.

Damon West is bestselling author of "The Change Agent" and "The Coffee Bean" and is passionate about his recovery and sharing the hope with others. We are so excited to bring his message to San Antonio and YOU! Save the date and join us for an unforgettable morning at Rise Recovery's 21st Annual Benefit Breakfast at the San Antonio Colonnade Hotel on May 20, 2022.

Individual tickets and table sponsorships will be available soon, so stay tuned!

On January 6th, Travis Donaldson, Rise Recovery Youth Peer Recovery Coach, celebrated 10 years sober. He understands the struggle of substance use disorder and now helps other youth through love and understanding and leading by example by living his best life. Like a Family Group parent shared, "Travis is one of the most amazing young men. What he went through is so very much more than he even touches on and yet he not only fought to survive, he now spends his life helping others do the same. He's selfless and inspirational, more than words can express." We agree. Learn more about Travis.
