Effective today, April 1, 2017, the Tour Plan process was terminated by the National Council. Units planning an outing no longer need to submit a tour plan to the Dan Beard Council. Approval of tour plans is no longer required and tour plans will no longer be processed. The online Tour Plan module will no longer be available after April 1, 2017. 

All Cub Scouts, families, leaders, and parents are invited to attend the Cub World Open House on Earth Day Saturday April 22, 2017 from 9am - 12pm. Come tour Cub World and sample summertime Cub Camping activities. Play in the Fort, conquer the Castle, visit the archery and BB Ranges, and explore the tunnels in Miner’s Camp.  Find out more at:

As part of Camp Friedlander's Boy Scout summer camp program, older Scouts (age 13+) will have the opportunity to participate in the Tennessee Mountain Adventure and the Summit Trek program this summer.

The 2nd Annual Cincinnati Reds Scout Service Day is back on Saturday, May 20th.  The Boy Scouts of America are partnering with Cincinnati Parks and the Cincinnati Reds for a day of service and fun.  Help enrich the community by volunteering some service hours to help beautify our riverfront, and then enjoy a discounted Cincinnati Reds game.  Those who attend the service game will also get a $5 discount coupon to attend the Cincinnati Reds Scout Overnight event on Saturday, September 23rd.

Gathering of Eagles Breakfast
The Gathering of Eagles breakfast will be held on Friday June 16th from 7:30-9 AM at the Metropolitan Club in Covington. The Gathering provides an awesome morning of fellowship with other Dan Beard Eagles, a chance to hear an update on programs and activities from council staff, and the recognition of our new class of NESA Outstanding Eagle Scout Award (NOESA) recipients.

This year's keynote will be delivered by NOESA recipient Paul Alexander, offensive line coach and assistant head coach for the Cincinnati Bengals. Click here to register for the Gathering of Eagles Breakfast.

Dan Beard Council, BSA promotes camping and does not want any Cub Scout, Boy Scout, or Venturer to miss the opportunity to attend a summertime camping program offered by our Council due to financial hardship. The Campership program is designed to aid Scouting families in these circumstances.

Johnny Appleseed Award
The Dan Beard Council was chosen to receive the Johnny Appleseed Award at Taking Root Initiative’s annual Tree Summit. This award is given to only a few individuals or groups each year, and Dan Beard Council was selected because of the success of the biannual Camp Conservation Day event. Read more
Unwanted Plant Species Eradication Team
Members of the Dan Beard Council’s Camp Staff Alumni Association met at Camp Friedlander to participate in the program debut of UPSET!  UPSET stands for Unwanted Plant Species Eradication Team, and it is their mission to remove invasive plant species from DBC Camp Properties. Read more
