Last Chance - Be a Mentor at Challenge Camp July 9th - 13th!
Dan Beard Council, Boy Scout of America is in search of positive mentors, 21 years or older, to volunteer during a week long outdoor youth program, PNC Challenge Camp, from July 9-13 . Mentors have the option of volunteering for one day or the entire week. In addition to facilitating fun outdoor programming, the volunteers will mentor through team building initiatives and character building.

This new Camp Friedlander Centennial section will be updated monthly with exciting details about the events to come in 2019. Be sure to check it out in the Fireside Chat!

Camp Friedlander has served as home for thousands of Scouts throughout the region since 1919. The Dan Beard Council is excited to celebrate 100 years of camping at Camp Friedlander in 2019, and a dedicated group of volunteers are planning a full year of activities for you to take part in.

The four tentpole activities for the celebration are:
  • Camp Staff Reunion in January
  • Camp Re-dedication and Homecoming event in August
  • Peterloon in October
  • 2019 Summer Camp Season featuring camp activities unique to the centennial year

Still Spots Available for Summer Camp at Camp Friedlander!

Did your summer plans change? Do you want to have an excellent summer adventure? There are still spots available for Summer Camp at Camp Friedlander. Swim in the beautiful Lake Marge Schott, climb on our BRAND NEW rock climbing surface or earn that last merit badge for a rank advancement. There is something for everybody at Camp Friedlander and most importantly lots of fun to have!

Sign Up Today for Family Camping at Cub World in July!

Consider taking the adventure out of the backyard and become miners, knights of the roundtable or mountain men! You and your family can come together to Cub World and participate in a special family program. Spend the night in the castle or fort, or rough it by slipping in a tent together with your children as they let their imaginations run wild. Shoot BB Guns and archery, go swimming, play games and just have fun in an overnight adventure!

Eight Israeli Scouts visit Camp Friedlander Summer Camp!

Eight Scouts, ages 13 and 14, and a leader from the Tzofim Israeli Scout Delegation arrived on June 21st in Cincinnati to visit the region and Camp Friedlander for two weeks. While at camp, the Tzofim Delegation will take part in traditional merit badge classes, COPE ( Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) and ACE (Advanced Camper Experience). The Israeli Scouts will also complete a community service project at French Park as well as see some famous Cincinnati sites.

National Jewish Committee on Scouting Awards Scholarships to Eagle Scouts

Mazel Tov to Nathaniel Pinhas of Florence, KY on receiving the Frank L. Weil Memorial Eagle Scout Scholarship (Second Place $2,000) from the National Jewish Committee on Scouting .

The National Jewish Committee on Scouting will award scholarships to Eagle Scouts who best meet specific qualifications.

Cincinnati Reds Overnight

On Saturday, September 29th , the Dan Beard Council and the Cincinnati Reds are excited to welcome Scouts, their friends, and their families to the 2018 Scout Night Campout!  The on-field campout will occur after the Reds play the Pittsburgh Pirates, with the game starting at 4:10PM .
