Updated Scouting Safely Planning Guides and Examples
As state guidelines and protocols continue to shift, we have updated our Scouting Safely Planning Guide to help you and your unit make informed decisions related to Scouting activities. Click here for the updated guide.

We've also created an overview of how some units have used the guidelines to effectively deliver the program in small groups (often in pack dens or troop patrols) through activities in-person, virtual, or a combination of both. One example is Troop 617 in Deerfield Township, OH who plans to have patrols meet in separate rooms. To learn more click here for a PDF about how units are meeting.

Join us for Camp Conservation Day & Help Make a Difference!
Two Sessions on Nov. 7th!

Only through continued service can we ensure that the beautiful and natural areas of the Dan Beard Scout Reservation are preserved for future youth. Camp Conservation Day, held on Saturday, November 7th from 9am-4pm, is a great way for Scouts to earn service hours while working to conserve our camp properties. This exciting day of organized projects include tree-planting, erosion control, honeysuckle removal, trail maintenance, and other conservation projects.

Extra safety precautions will be in effect:
  • Two sessions (Morning & Afternoon) have been created to ensure safe social distancing
  • All groups will be split into no more than 10 people.
  • Temperature checks will be taken upon arrival & masks will be worn.
