Camp Friedlander Centennial Anniversary
Celebrating 100 Years in 2019!
Washington Park in Over the Rhine was once home to a totem pole carved by Scouts attending Camp Friedlander in the 1930’s. One of the Centennial activities being considered for summer camp 2019 is the carving of a new totem pole. Scouts throughout the summer would be able to participate in the creation of a new totem pole that would be set at the end of the Centennial year.
This section will be updated monthly with exciting Centennial updates.
Start making plans now to Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Camp Edgar Friedlander!

It all started back in 1919 with a gift to our local council of land near the Little Miami River in Clermont County.
Today, nearly 100 years later, Camp Edgar Friedlander is the centerpiece of the majestic Dan Beard Scout Reservation, a source of lasting memories for untold numbers of Scouts and Scouters who have camped “On This Ground” over the past 10 decades.
You can take part in commemorating the 100th Anniversary next year in a variety of ways, not the least of which is attending summer camp or other programs during the centennial year. Troops in particular should consider making Friedlander their summer camp destination in 2019 for centennial themed activities and special merit badge opportunities not normally offered.

Additionally, there are three “tentpole” events you can participate in:

  • Camp Staff Reunion
  • Homecoming and Re-dedication
  • Peterloon: Eras of Adventure
