Camp Friedlander's Inaugural Boo-Thru: One Spooky Mile of Family-Friendly Drive-Thru Halloween Fun!

Stay safely in your vehicle and adventure through the gravel roads of the Dan Beard Scout Reservation on Friday and Saturday October 16, 17, 23 and 24 from 6pm until 9pm for only $10/car! See fun and spooky sights, hear the ghostly gasps and have fun with your family! Receive a Treat Bag at the end of the route before you leave Camp to drive back home.

Entry purchase also gets you access to the Virtual Costume Contest & Virtual Pumpkin Carving Contest! Contest winners get fabulous prizes; Grand Prize is a FREE Session of Summer Camp for 2021!

Scouting U is looking for Instructors to Teach Virtually!

The Dan Beard Council Scouting U Committee is now accepting ALL course offerings to anyone interested in teaching at the upcoming Scouting U on Saturday, December 5, 2020. If you have any Scouting knowledge you’d like to pass on to Scouters of all backgrounds, then Scouting U has a great opportunity for you!

Fill out the Scouting U Instructor questionnaire to get your class on the schedule. Please check out the Scouting U website for up-to-date course offerings and information about the event. Registration will open September 15, 2020!

Dan Beard Council Philmont Contingent Advisor Needed!

The Dan Beard Council is looking for the right set of leaders to take on our Council Philmont contingent for 2021! The trek will take place on June 14-23, 2021. If interested in applying, please complete this form and submit to! We will be reaching out as applications are submitted.
Safety Moment: Familiarize Yourself with the Guide to Safe Scouting!

All participants in official Scouting activities should become familiar with the Guide to Safe Scouting, applicable program literature or manuals, and be aware of state or local government regulations that supersede Boy Scouts of America practices, policies, and guidelines. The Guide to Safe Scouting is an overview of Scouting policies and procedures gleaned from a variety of sources.

NYLT will operate differently this year. It will now run the first two weekends in October at Camp Friedlander. If you have eligible Scouts interested in refining their leadership skills, sign them up!
