His company Quarterdeck Games published Ironbottom Sound, Destroyer Captain, Norway 1940, and other titles. Jack is also a good friend who helped me with Conflict magazine back in the 1970s. He relaunched as Quarterdeck International and imports wargames from Europe and Asia with English rules. Check out his website here. NEW 4-volume WW1 Aviation book series
Flight Badges of the Allies & Central Powers

Robert Pandis spent years researching and assembling this vast archive of aviation wings, badges, and awards. Photos of aviators and their stories (including Germany's Red Baron) are beautifully displayed in 1,512 pages that contain nearly 2,000 full-color photos and other images. I learned a lot about the aviation services of nearly 20 different nations, including Japan, Serbia, and others never before seen in English. Carl Bobrow, a Research Associate at the U.S. National Air and Space Museum, said of this series that he "could not find its equal in breadth of topic or quality of research." Click on the link below to read Bobrow's reviews of each book.)

The series title of these books does not do justice to the magnitude of importance of the incredible information Pandis has assembled. I cannot afford to collect military artifacts, but I appreciate them. What surprised me is that these four volumes are so much more than just a collection of WW1 artifacts in a stunning art layout. This massive work will probably never be surpassed. There is an amazing amount of historical information about the aviation services of the featured nations. I was so impressed with these books that I obtained a set before I ever decided to help author Pandis publicize his epic magnum opus.

See sample pages here. Read Carl Bobrow's reviews here.

Individual volumes sell for $95 each, but they are on sale through Lombardy Studios for $79.95 each plus shipping. OR buy all 4 volumes as a set for just $70 per volume with FREE shipping ($280).

STREETS OF STALINGRAD™️ Reborn
Development team playtesting has already begun
Vassal playtesting begins November 19

In 1979 the first edition of my massive, "monster" board game on the 1942 battle for Stalingrad was released. It featured nearly two-thousand counters with company-level infantry, armor platoons, anti-tank batteries, and field artillery battalions fighting across an eight-foot long game map. Three more editions in the same scale and size followed over the next twenty-three years.

You can see sample counters and the prototype pre-playtest map, plus read about the design of this TOTALLY NEW EDITION by clicking here.

The SOS4 Kickstarter is scheduled for early 2023.
8 new banners commemorate San Francisco's role in World War Two and the founding of the United Nations
Dana was the historical consultant who helped create the eight banners now on exhibit in the San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building that commemorate 1945 – the end of World War Two and creation of the United Nations that came into existence in the theater hall off of the lobby. Dana is next to Major General Mike Myatt (USMC-Ret) who is the Veterans Commemorative Committee chairman. Ken Maley, on the opposite side of MG Myatt, was the project team leader for these 1945 banners and the World War One exhibit shown below.
Dana and his daughter "Iggy" in the lobby of the San Francisco War Memorial Veterans Building where the 2018 100th anniversary commemoration banners were installed (in the background) that explain America's role in World War One. These banners are now on display upstairs on the second floor to make room for the new World War Two and United Nations banners.
In 2018 the United States World War I Centennial Commission chose San Francisco's War Memorial Veterans Building as one of its 100 Cities / 100 Memorials matching grant, awarded to preserve monuments with the designation as a World War I Centennial Memorial.

If you plan to visit San Francisco, Dana can be your tour guide for these two exhibits and their backstories (check on available dates) – [email protected]
