Quite a few news reports discuss recent employee walkouts across the country in protest of federal policies.  Employers are concerned about how these protests might affect their business operations and what they should do. Employers want to be able to ensure productivity and maintain attendance policies. The situation can be tough to navigate.

On March 27th, the California Office of Administrative Law (OAL) approved  new regulations relating to the use of criminal background information in employment decisions. These regulations will be filed with the Secretary of State's office and are effective on July 1, 2017.
Employers will have additional burdens under the new regulations.
