Duo Tempo Turn

Carly Sheridan is the director of Social CirKISH, a non-profit youth development organization that teaches the circus arts to improve the lives of marginalized youth in the Las Vegas Valley. Since 2013 the program has helped more than 2500 youth improve their self-confidence, learn the value of teamwork, and ameliorate both their physical and mental health.  

Carly holds a B.F.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies/Dance from Montreal’s Concordia University and a certificate in Non-Profit Management from UNLV.

She has coached at the prestigious École National De Cirque in Canada and was involved with coordinating the original Cirque du Soleil social circus outreach program ‘Cirque du Monde’ when it was first implemented in rural communities throughout Québec, Canada in 2001. She is often solicited for her knowledge of circus education and has helped develop curriculums for a variety of schools in the US and Canada. 

​Her performance credits include Cirque du Soleil, Broadway productions, cruise ships, European cabarets, international festivals, Broadway series national tours, symphonic orchestras, and international television appearances. She also co-created and directed North America’s largest circus festival The VIVA Fest. 

Ivan Dotsenko is a certified rigger and earned a certificate in Digital Imaging and Videography from Montreal’s Concordia University.

After a career performing abroad, Ivan came to the United States with the famous Moscow Circus. Ivan is a multi-skilled performer and has worked with some of the top entertainment companies in the world including Disney, Cavalia, Seaworld, and Universal Studios. Ivan was also a lead performer in the Broadway Production of Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy. 

​He has coached at some of the top circus schools in North America including the San Diego Circus Center & Cirque School Los Angeles.

Work on an existing routine, learn new duo combinations, learn how to base a partner and be a flyer!  

Participants will disclose the apparatus they will use for their class and the studio will provide.

Workshop will focus on fun orbit and spin combination and new skills such as forward walkovers on the bar.

“Come learn how to use this fun circus apparatus - you will learn the basic mechanics of how the diabolo works and how to keep a sustained spin, you will also be introduced to the beginner series of diabolo tosses and tricks”

STRAPS Beginner / Intermediate

The focus of the workshop would be a mix of drills for learning roll-ups, drills for learning one arm/leg roll ups, variations on roll ups (if people have them) spin choreography combinations, and leg wrap combinations in the straps.

Pre-requisite: be at least 1 year of experience on the aerial silks. 
Bring a long sleeve shirt or arm protection for the straps and if you have bring a back warmer, as it can pad some of the leg and waist wraps- otherwise ensure to have clothes that cover lower back and stomach.
