Wisconsin's Dancing Goat Distillery Submits Winning Bid for Death's Door
Dancing Goat Distillery, a local competitor in Cambridge, Wisconsin, submitted the winning bid of nearly $2.5 million at a bankruptcy auction last week for Death's Door Distillery in Middleton, a suburb just six miles west of Madison. (Lexington Herald Leader)

Portland's Freeland Spirits Debuts Bourbon Finished in Pinot Noir Barrels

Virginia Distillery Co. Presents Check to Humane Society
Virginia Distillery Company presented a $5,000 check to the Nelson County humane society, Almost Home, during a celebration event last week. (NBC 29) 
Montanya Becomes Colorado's First Distillery to Become Certified B Corp.
Montanya Distillers announced that it is now a Certified B Corporation. The distinction honors the rum distillery’s commitment to social and environmental sustainability. Montanya received a score of 119 from B Lab, a nonprofit that certifies and supports B Corporations.
'Predator' Gets Its Own Whiskey
If you've ever seen the popular film  Predator  and thought, "if only there were an  alcohol ic beverage I could enjoy right now that reminds me of the film I just watched," you're in luck and not alone. Silver Screen Bottling Company and Fox Studios have partnered to launch something called Dutch Bourbon Whiskey, a  Predator -themed whiskey. (
Gin Collaboration with Field Museum a Big Hit for Michigan's Journeyman
Journeyman Distillery made 100 cases of Field Museum Gin in a collaboration with the iconic natural history museum in Chicago earlier this year, not anticipating how strong the demand would be. The gin, made with botanicals and plants housed within the Field Museum, sold out within a week. (NWI Times)
Smyrna, Georgia Gives OK for Distilleries

The Smyrna City Council voted 7-0 on Dec. 17 to permit breweries, brewpubs and distilleries to draw numerous producers looking to locate their operations within Smyrna. In making his motions for approval, Councilman Tim Gould said these changes “open the city up for some great economic opportunities.” (Atlanta Journal-Constitution) 
Drake's Organic Spirits Inks Deal with Southern Glazer
Drake’s Organic Spirits announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Southern Glazer Wine & Spirits that will make Drake’s award-winning premium organic vodka, white rum and other products available in multiple states throughout the country. (BevNet)
