How are you faring on your Lenten journey?  There are many challenges we face in these times, and during the season of Lent, I find it especially helpful to root myself in walking with Christ.  As we know, Christ walked closely with those suffering under an imperialistic regime, and he preached a message of compassion and hope, reaching out to those on the margins.  We are all called to live this message through our own unique gifts and talents, and I offer my artistry to be part of that outreach of compassion. I'm dancing for you!  May we all have the courage to dance through Good Friday and into Easter!

Meanwhile, I am still savoring and unpacking some of the amazing gifts of my pilgrimage to Israel this January.  One of my favorite moments was the opportunity I had to offer my storydance of the Woman at the Well - in Samaria!  We found a very evocative landscape in the village of Sebastia located in the West Bank that created a beautiful spot for us to retell the story of Jesus meeting the Samaritan woman.  In this time of suspicion of strangers, refugees and immigrants, Jesus models an amazing sense of deep hospitality.  Since the 3rd Sunday of Lent brings us this same Gospel story, I offer you our version "on the road" as an inspiration for your journey with Christ!

Sacred Seasons: A Yearlong Journey through the Celtic Wheel of the Year.    The Celtic Wheel of the Year is an ancient way of understanding the unfolding of the seasons and the slow turning of the earth.  Lenten Dancing with the Youth

David Haas in Seattle!

I have known David Haas for almost 40 years, and yet this was the first time we hosted him at our own parish in Seattle.  What an amazing blessing!  The Concert was full of laughter, beauty and prayer, and the retreat day a renewal for us all.  David, thanks for all the artistry and prayer we have shared through the ages!
Please click here to see all our beautiful photos!

And finally, in closing, I'm sending you a prayer of peace for this season of Lent.  This is a new setting for the Prayer of St. Francis that David Haas offered at our Seattle Retreat.  (You are invited to dance along playing an instrument on the refrain!)  As we walk humbly upon this earth in the footsteps of Christ, may we all become ever more, instruments of God's peace.

Love and blessings, friends - Betsey
