Jim Sterner is teaching Shag for our lesson at this week's First Thursday Beach themed dance. Although not a "ballroom dance" Shag is the SC State song so it does have a place in our rotation. And don't worry we will still have all our usual social/ballroom dances on the playlist but a beachy decorating them, so dress casual and please bring a dish to share.

Last month at St. John's Hall

It was a sad week for our dance community. We lost a very dear, sweet dance friend. Bill Loughran passed suddenly on Monday and our hearts go out to his wife Barbara and her family. Bill always had a hug for everyone and he will be missed terribly. His funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 3rd at 11 am at the McMillan-Small Funeral Home, 910 67th Avenue N, Myrtle Beach.

We had a nice turnout for our first Social Dancing night at the Calabash Elks on Saturday. A fun time was had by all so we will be doing it again on October 27th.
