The Animal Ball
The inspiration comes from real life. Everything that enters or leaves my life is sooner or later transformed by my hook and colours. Life and art are inseparable. And in the days of reaching the bottom, one knows the value of true friendship.
In Mark Shand's book 'Travels on my Elephant', one passage was particularly poignant. The mahout (elephant keeper) explains the origin of choosing his profession. When the night trapped him and his friend in the jungle, a tiger approached their camp. The mahout recalls the terror he felt when his friend was captured by the beast's paws. He knew he was next. Then, his elephant dragged him in between his massive legs and protected him for the whole night, kicking the tiger away until the sun brought safety.
Elephant Family took me under their wings when I needed a true friendship.

I am delighted to announce I will be working with the illustrious charity the Elephant Family on their latest, most magnificent project, The Animal Ball, to be held at Lancaster House on Tuesday 9th July 2013.
Harking back to the opulent and decadent balls of yore, such as Truman Capote's Black and White Ball 1966, The Proust Ball of 1971 and Czar Nicholas II's Romanov Ball of 1903, The Animal Ball will once again bring the splendor and glamour of a masked soire to the heart of London.
The evening will begin at 7pm on the lawns of Clarence House, in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. The party will then migrate next door, to Lancaster House, where 24 magnificent rooms transformed by the world's leading artists and fashion houses await your pleasure to feast and dance into the early hours.
Tickets are sold out. If you wish to support Elephant Family, pls click here

The ABSOLUT Open Canvas
initiative features some of the world's most celebrated emerging artists who are transforming North 6th Street in Williamsburg from a white canvas into an immersive outdoor art exhibition.

How does a thought/idea form itself? It is a response to information, images, words, food or lovers ...conversations that flow through an individual's unconscious. It is collaboration between environment and time. Still and metamorphosing, old and new, unique and common, public and private, hidden and exposed, performer and creator, traditional and innovative, decay and renewal, are all interchangeable.
I take advantage of living in NYC with its various neighborhoods and, with my actions, create a feedback to the economic and social reality in our community.
I am creating All We Need Is Love and Money ( 80 ft long fence among other pieces) for Open Canvas to inspire others to take creative risks to Transform Today.
You can see my artwork, as well as pieces from other artists in Williamsburg at North 6th Street (between Kent and Whythe) from June 22nd-29th, 2013
