Our clients are award winners, headline makers and, above all, cure seekers with pipelines that potentially hold tomorrow’s most important treatments for patients. We are driven to support this meaningful work by solving strategic, financial and operational challenges for life science companies at all corporate stages, helping them reach and operate successfully in the market. We are setting our sights even higher -- with new services, geographic expansion, streamlined operations and additional talent -- all intended to add more value for clients in 2020 and beyond. In the meantime, we are pleased to share the following summary of highlights from 2019. As always, we are thankful to our clients, colleagues and friends for sharing this ride with us.
It is a privilege to work alongside some of the best and brightest teams in the life science business. In 2019 our clients were 2 of the 10 highest funded start-ups (source: GEN ), 4 of the Fierce 15 (source: Fierce Biotech ), 6 of the top 20 life science start-ups to watch (source: Biospace ), the Xconomy "Big Idea" winner, one of Philadelphia's 12 "power women" in bioscience (source: Philadelphia Business Journal ), and 2 of Forbes' 30 under 30 in healthcare. Whether pre-clinical or commercially operating, the work of our clients can change lives, and we proudly supported 234 such companies last year, representing 38% growth (sample below).
From the management of day-to-day accounting to preparing for milestone events, our team of 90+ consultants and portfolio of services are centered around achieving client goals. We share in your success, and congratulate our clients on wide-ranging accomplishments in 2019. Below is a sample of highlights.
