Darby's Dancers - October Newsletter
National Organization
We are excited to be starting our 2022-2023 season for Darby's Dancers at WDC! Below is some updated information regarding the enrollment process for Darby's Dancers national organization.

The Darby's Dancers national organization requires that all dancers are registered with the national organization using the link below.

There is a $95 enrollment fee for the national organization annually, There are three options.

  • WDC Darby's Dancers fundraising will cover your dancer's fee.
  • Parents may pay part of the fee to the national organization and have WDC Darby's Dancers fundraising cover the balance. Please notify us if you would like to use this option.
  • Parents may choose to pay the $95 enrollment fee. Payment will be made to Darby's Dancers through WDC (cash or check preferred) at our front desk.
Dance Wear & Shoes
Darby's Dancers students may stop in the WDC boutique to be sized for shoes and choose dance wear if you have not already done so. Below are our studio boutique hours.

Mondays 1:00-8:30pm
Tuesdays 9:30am-8:30pm
Wednesdays 9:30-8:30pm
Thursdays 9:30-8:30pm
Fridays 9:30-8:30pm
Saturdays 9:00-1:00pm
Sundays CLOSED

Jazz shoes needed for classes including jazz.

For hip hop classes, dancers may wear their own clean tennis shoes.


Bags/T-shirts

Dancers will receive an order form in class for a complimentary Darby's Dancers shirt/tank. Sizing samples will be available near the front desk. Orders due by October 15th.

We have some Darby's Dancers bags available to pick up near the front desk for NEW students with more bags on the way.
Important Dates
MEA — Saturday, October 22nd (no Darby's Dancers classes)
Darby's Dancers classes WILL NOT be held on Saturday, October 22nd during MEA.

Halloween
  • Darby's Dancers will be given the opportunity to wear their costumes to class on Tuesday, October 25th/Saturday, October 29th
  • Dancers WILL NOT be able to pass out treats; however, teachers will have treats for dancers. 

Holiday Breaks
Below are the holiday breaks for for this season. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanksgiving No classes: Wednesday, Nov. 23rd through Saturday, Nov. 26th
Winter Break No classes: Thursday, December 22nd through Tuesday, January 3rd
Spring Break No classes: Monday, March 6th - Saturday, March 11th

Picture Week
Pictures will be held Monday, March 27th - Saturday, April 1st at WDC. Please mark your calendars. We will have a more specific schedule on a later date.

Recital 2023
We have set our tentative recital dates for 2023...

Tuesday, May 30th through Saturday, June 3rd at East Ridge High School in Woodbury.
Dress rehearsals will be held the week of May 22nd-25th.

Each Darby's Dancers class will perform in one recital during our recital week and will attend one dress rehearsal the week prior. Look for more information to be sent during the season.

Thurs, Oct 13th between 3:00 - 9:00 for a delicious treat and support our Darby's Dancers- Woodbury program all at the same time!

Just mention WDC when placing your order, a 20% of your order will be donated to Darbys.

COUPON CARD Fundraiser - thru October 18th
Coupon cards for local businesses are currently available to purchase at our front desk. Proceeds go to the Darby's Dancers program at WDC.

Also, look for more information to be sent later this fall for our annual Double Good popcorn fundraiser which will also benefit our Darby's Dancers program.

WDC Nutcracker - December 16th & 17th
Company lines will be performing at Hudson High School on Friday, December 16th & Saturday, December 17th. Please save the dates and look for ticket information to be sent/posted next month!

BAND App

At WDC we use the BAND app to help connect instructors with dancers/parents and also to keep parents updated throughout the season. Newsletters and important updates will be posted in the Darby's Dancers BAND app group. See the link below. Later in the season, instructors will post recital music and videos as the dancers prepare for our annual recital.
