TONIGHT: Community Gathering - Safety in our School Community

Last Thursday, a student brought a loaded gun to school at Hinsdale South.
While immediate action was taken to ensure the safety of our students and staff, this event has understandably caused worry, questions, and a desire for collective solutions within our community. To address these concerns and work together to foster a safer and more supportive environment, please come to a Community Gathering on Safety in Our School Community TONIGHT, Monday, Nov. 25, at 7:30 p.m. at Hinsdale South.

Community Gathering on Safety in Our School Community
Date: Monday, Nov. 25
Time: 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Location: Hinsdale South auditorium (enter through door 9)
This meeting will provide a space to:
- Share updates on the incident and the actions taken by the school and local authorities.
- Discuss ongoing safety measures and explore additional strategies for prevention.
- Offer a forum for responses to your questions, concerns, and ideas.
Joining the superintendent and members of the D86 team will be Darien Police Chief Greg Thomas, DuPage County State’s Attorney Bob Berlin, Darien Mayor Joseph Marchese, and DuPage County Board members Lucy Evans and Kari Galassi.
The safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our top priority. We believe that by coming together, we can not only address immediate concerns but also strengthen our community's resilience and trust!
