The DUDE abides...

It's TIMELAPSE October at JAM.  Pass the time with 21-year old "Dude" in this video from community member Jan Abbott.

In the wise words of Ferris Bueller, "“Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” JAM invites you to play with that "timelapse" feature on your smartphone to capture some of the transient beauty of our season, every day activities that stitch the fabric of life, etc.

For Shirley Jackson Lovers

From a listener question via Instagram: "I've read all of Shirley Jackson's work. I loved it! What should I read that's similar?" Once again our booksellers began their recommendations with the query, "Are you sure you have read everything Shirley Jackson has written? There is a lot!" From there they riff on Bennington connections, authors with similar voices, and Shirley Jackson Award winners. (Episode 21, premiered 10.11.22)

In a society increasingly divided and isolated, storytelling can bring us together. Story Jam is a bi-monthly story circle where community members can get to know each other through personal stories. You're invited to join the circle and share an unrehearsed 5-minute true story from your own life. No competition, no judgment, no lecturing, no ranting… Just a story about something that happened to you and a chance to listen to other people’s stories. Whether a new or seasoned storyteller, shy or extroverted – all are welcome!
