Darling Calls on Evers to Unveil Vaccination Plan for Wisconsin

Madison – Tonight, Governor Tony Evers will deliver his third State of the State Address. State Senator Alberta Darling is asking the governor to outline a plan that lets Wisconsin residents know when they can expect to be vaccinated against COVID-19.

“The Governor has an opportunity to reassure people in Wisconsin that they will be vaccinated soon,” Darling said, “It’s time to put aside politics and start delivering vaccines to our most vulnerable citizens.”

Last week, media outlets called the Governor’s vaccine rollout “bizarre and disorganized” and asked if bureaucracy is slowing the distribution. According to those reports, our state is near the bottom in the Midwest for the percent of our population getting vaccinated. For weeks, Senator Darling has asked for more details about the governor’s vaccine plan.

“Governor Evers continues to try to shift blame for his troubled rollout of the vaccine.” Darling said, “The people of the state deserve answers from him and tonight is the night to deliver.”

Senator Darling represents portions of Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha Counties.
