November 2024

Welcome to the November Data & Analytics Department Newsletter!

This edition brings you updates on disregarding the Alpha Test User Account, accessing essential new job aids, starting preparations for Longitudinal System Analysis (LSA), and an exciting announcement about a community event. Join us in exploring these important topics for our community.

In Partnership,

Data & Analytics Department

Please note, "Alpha Test" is one of our dummy user accounts that the HMIS and Data Analytics Team use to make changes and test our HMIS system. Right now, we are using Alpha Test as part of a data import for a large number of clients. If you see "Alpha Test" as a case manager for one of your clients, please note that any messages sent through the HMIS messaging system will not reach anyone at SSF. If you have CAS related questions about your client, please email cas@sacstepsforward.org. For all other questions, email hmis@sacstepsforward.org.

We're excited to announce the launch of our new Sacramento CoC Coordinated Access System (CAS) Job Aids! These are designed to support HMIS CAS assessors in completing assessments within our new Coordinated Access System agency. Access the Job Aids today to optimize your workflow and provide comprehensive support for your HMIS work in CAS.

In addition to the holidays, we have also entered reporting season. As of November 4th, we begin our preparation and data cleanup for the Longitudinal Systems Analysis (LSA), a yearly report mandated by the federal government.  Once submitted, our data is combined with information from CoCs across the country and used to create the Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR), which is presented to Congress. Providing accurate and complete data from your program directly impacts the strategic planning for federal, state, and local funding that supports our community's vital work.  We look forward to working with you!

Join Willow Clinic Outreach for their 14th Annual Veterans' Day Health Fair on Saturday, November 9th, from 9 AM to 3 PM! Join them for free medical and neurological care, lice checks, housing assistance, veterans-specific resources, clothing, food, and more. This event is open to all unhoused community members, ensuring vital support reaches those in need. Visit the flyer below for a detailed list of services available!
