STATIC CONTROL FLOORING
Data corruption and patient records
Over the past year, how many times have we heard references to “data” as it pertains to Covid? Countless, right? Data is also key to the treatment of individual patients. Too much static electricity in a medical environment can damage or corrupt patient data stored on computers or other electronic devices.

Many of the newer, smaller and more sophisticated electronic devices can withstand a small amount of static electricity before there’s a risk of damage. Some as little as 100 volts. When you consider a person walking across a carpeted floor on a cold and dry day can generate as much as 5,000 volts, you can understand the importance of flooring in a healthcare setting.

StaticStop offers several flooring products for these types of area: FreeStyle ESD and SelecTile ESD. These flooring products are available in a wide variety of colors and utilize our interlocking technology so it can be installed over existing flooring in fairly short order—with little or no down time.

If you’re unsure as to whether your medical facility requires ESD flooring, please download a copy of our eBook, Checklist for ESD Flooring Selection. Better yet, give us a call at contact us 508-583-3200 or drop a line.
