Hello friends and supporters of Achieve Brown County!

Thank you for sticking with us as we share updates about your Collective Impact Partnership! We've made progress in achieving our fundraising goals, but your support is critical to our sustainability in 2025.

In the last three weeks, we have shared weekly e-blasts dedicated to Achieve Brown County's budget and financial needs, stories of system change impact and partnership advancement work. We said we would send out additional weekly updates featuring progress and stories of what makes our work possible.

This week, we are focused on narrowing in on another one of our three pillars of work – data work. Also, hear directly from Amanda Garcia, one of our Partners, as she shares her "I Am ABC" story.

Sincerely,

Sarah Beckman, Executive Director

Why Achieve Brown County?

At Achieve Brown County, our impact is rooted in the voices of those who live, work, and lead within our community. Amanda Garcia, Executive Director of Casa ALBA Melanie and a dedicated member of our board shares why she believe our work matters—not just in theory, but in real life. Read Blog →

At Achieve Brown County, data isn't just numbers and stories.

Our Data Work is more—it's one of the three pillars that drives progress in our community, alongside Partnership Advancement and Collaborative Action. We analyze and visualize cradle-to-career data and make it available to our community for decision making. We use data to drive the Collaborative Action work we facilitate. See highlights of our Data Work below.

Without the Achieve Brown County Collective Impact Partnership work becomes siloed, data becomes less accessible, and systems become too complex to change alone.

We need your help.

Whether it's $20 or $20,000, your investment keeps this work moving forward.

Real Stories of Data Work Impact

Publicly Available Data

When we focus on individual-level outcomes, we don’t get the full picture. We don’t see the norms, policies and practices embedded within systems — institutions and organizations — where young people live, learn and grow. We miss the role that complex systems play in creating inequities.

The Pilot of a Community Information System

Achieve Brown County and Brown County United Way collaborated with Community Partners to pilot an innovative Community Information System (CIS) as a way for our community to understand the connection and alignment of systems in Brown County, analyze it, and use data for decision making.

What Data Work Looks Like in 2025

This year, we’re strengthening the foundation of our community’s data landscape—making information more accessible, equitable, and useful for everyone working toward better outcomes for kids.

1. Accessible Data

Our Youth Outcome Dashboard is BACK! Now powered by Power BI, the dashboard delivers an interactive view of how kids are doing from birth to career. It features seven key outcomes.

NEW in 2025: Outcome Booklets for Kindergarten Readiness and Early Grade Reading will be published. These quick, printable resources break down key indicators and help partners connect the dots between data and action.

2. Data Advisory Team

(launch paused due to funding)

We’re building a team of community members and data experts to help us tackle big questions: What data matters most? How do we build trust and inspire action through what we share?

Planned priorities include:

  • Creating shared Principles & Ethics for data use
  • Reviewing and refining our Dashboard
  • Setting clear goals to make data easier to understand—and more impactful

3. Data Your Way

Data is most powerful when it’s used.

That’s why we’re working directly with partners to turn information into action—through one-on-one support, custom reports, and tools designed to meet their unique needs.

Need help understanding data or telling your impact story? We’re here to help.

Data Work is more than just charts and graphs. It’s transparency, accountability, and shared understanding. When data is accessible, decisions reflect our communities' needs. When it’s not, we are all left in the dark.
