Greetings and welcome to the April 2022 issue of Dateline.
This month, we are celebrating the School Library Month and National Poetry Month. This is the season when we begin to celebrate students and school employees. We will soon recognize the county’s teachers of the year and classified employees of the year. More on those announcements will be coming in the next few weeks. The county office of education will also recognize the ROP students and teachers at its annual Students of Excellence on May 10.
In this issue of Dateline, there are resources for teachers to use in their classrooms and activities designed to help recognize the importance of poetry and school libraries. As usual, this issue features additional teaching resources, as well as a number of available student grants, contests, and scholarships.
Please enjoy and share Dateline and the included opportunities with your fellow educators.
In Community,
Lynn Mackey
Contra Costa County Superintendent of Schools
