DCM Associates, Inc. is pleased to announce that Dave Dean has been appointed Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Family Promise of Morris County
, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to ending the crisis of homelessness faced by far too many families in their community. The announcement comes at the close of an extensive executive nonprofit leadership search conducted by Joe Duffy, Executive Vice President of our firm.
Family Promise of Morris County partners with more than 1,600 community volunteers, civic and community groups, corporations and foundations, and individuals. The dedication and commitment of these partners leads to cost-effectiveness, allowing the organization to direct the majority of its $3 million budget toward the needs of those they serve.
Dave brings to Family Promise more than 30 years of experience in the social services sector. His most recent role was Assistant Vice President for Easterseals New Jersey, where he managed a $25 million budget and oversaw three HUD grants for the homeless. As COO of Family Promise of Morris County, he will ensure that the agency has effective operational and financial procedures in place and will work alongside the Chief Executive Officer to plan, manage, coordinate, and implement all activities of the organization.
"I am honored to join Family Promise as their new COO," Dave says. "I started working with individuals experiencing homelessness in 1990. In the intervening years I've worked with various populations, but I have always maintained a strong commitment to ensuring housing stability and security. Coming to Family Promise feels like I'm returning to my roots. The team's passion for service is palpable and I'm thrilled to work with such a committed team."
"We are happy to welcome Dave Dean to our team," says Joann Bjornson, CEO. "Dave is a great fit with our agency culture and has the skill set to help us manage our infrastructure, human resources, and internal systems. As Family Promise Morris continues to grow, it is more important than ever to have the proper tools so that we can best serve our Morris County neighbors. Dave's experience with homelessness and housing insecurity coupled with his creative and flexible approach will help guide our team to new levels. We are excited for this next step with Dave supporting our amazing staff as we work to respond to the needs of our community."
Joann states that, "Working with the DCM team helped us recruit, hire and onboard our new COO. The recruitment for such a high level position was new to us. They walked us through each step of the process and reached out to a broad scope of potential candidates. This was an extensive process, one that was much smoother than had we done so on our own. All of our final candidates came through this process rather than from our own internal network. The DCM team worked with our timeframe, helping to ensure a quick turnaround from our first conversation to the final hire letter. I want to personally thank Joe, Michele and Dennis and acknowledge their wonderful team."
Please join us in congratulating Dave and everyone at Family Promise of Morris County, and in wishing them much success going forward.
