Industry News
Do you have Quartzite or Marble?

For some time now there has been a big problem with Quartzite, or what is called soft quartzite, being misclassified.  I have myself got into a lot of trouble incorrectly stating that some marbles or dolomite's are s oft quartzite.
I think just about every stone supplier has gone through this and has had problems defining the various stones.    Some are still trying to get you to buy this soft stone as quartzite, but folks, it's not really quartzite
The Marble Institute of America head technical director Chuck Muhlbauer has provided this tec bulletin.  This article clarifies what quartzite is. Please click here to download this or print it. You will never get this information from your contractor or stone supplier.
