Today is Day #17 in Counting the Omer. BibleStudy.org has this to say about the number 17: 'In the Bible the number 17 symbolizes "overcoming the enemy" and "complete victory."'

Have you ever watched a horror movie where the villainous bogeyman just keeps coming back again and again? No matter how many times it is hit, shot, bludgeoned or locked up-you can be sure that, when you least expect it, a scary, gnarled hand with sinister fingernails will rise up in one last evil attempt before being fully defeated. I had this same hair tingling sensation reading about current global politics. 

In America, we see the rise of anti-Semitism in Congress and in the media. Rep. Ilhan Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, tweeted "it's all about the Benjamins" when describing a Jewish political interest group. This was a subtle slur against the Jewish tribe of Benjamin. Another tweet commented on how Israel has supposedly "hypnotized the world." In a speech to a leftist group in Washington, DC she stirred up the crowd to oppose Pro-Jewish politicians "the political influence in this country that says it is okay to push for allegiance to a foreign country." This might seem somewhat silly or even humorous but not in light of her questionable connections. Her social media pages are rife with "friends" who have a clear anti-Israel bias, and even Palestinian terrorist connections. Perhaps one of the strangest video clips is her self-professed infatuation with the terrorist organization known as Al-Qaeda.

Amazingly, the Jews are now being blamed for the Corona virus with astounding headlines such as these:

Don't all rational people remember the atrocities of the Holocaust?

The most recent historical example we have of virulent anti-Semitism gone mad was the Nazi Third Reich. This should evoke depths of evil that we, as a global population, would not like to plumb again. Who, in their right mind, would actually CHOOSE to elect people who espouse this ideology with all the backward perspective we have of history? How is this even remotely possible in democratically elected, first world nations? 

 
Germany, before the rise of the Nazi Third Reich, was considered the center of advanced society and culture in Europe. I'm sure the same can be said of America, France and England. In Germany today, as incredulous as this may sound, there is now talk of a "Fourth Reich!"

With each new attack on synagogues, and sketchy elected officials who are openly anti-Semitic, this feels like a bad recurring dream. Until we fully grasp that Jews are the "canaries in the coal mine" we will not understand the depth of this wickedness and what it truly indicates. Not only should we "never forget" that 6 million Jews were killed in the Holocaust from an evil that is still hard to fathom, we should also "never forget" that while they may have been the first to go, there were SIXTY MILLION deaths in WWII (TEN TIMES this amount)! So, we cannot afford to go back to sleep on this issue. 

 
The Jews have always been an example to us as God's Chosen People. They might be the first ones on the front lines to feel the effects of this spirit of lawlessness, but it is the first whiff of a deep malevolent death agenda that is dangerous to the entire global horizon. Much like the Zyklon B gas used in the Nazi Death Camps, the "Jewish canaries" might be the first indicator that something has gone wrong but, make no mistake about it, this destructive force will be coming soon to a country near you. 

 
It is easy to feel overwhelmed at the thought of resisting this evil. It's pugnacious, recurring, and it keeps returning just when we thought mankind has become "enlightened" enough not to repeat history. However, Satan is a notorious "shape-shifter." He transforms from a Nazi emblem to a rainbow flag. From Nebuchadnezzar's golden statue to the Statue of Liberty, he will transform himself into an "angel of light" an idol at which he demands all must bow down. We must not be fooled by innocuous sounding names such as "democratic socialism" or "labor party" which delude the clueless into bondage as surely as rats to a piece of cheese in a trap. 

Here's what I believe are the ingredients brewing in the cauldron of this political stew:

 
If you are a student of theology, you will quickly recognize that these are all the "ingredients" of the SEVEN DEADLY SINS. No wonder they are called "deadly". They do indeed lead to actual DEATH with chilled fixings. 

As in the days of Shadrach, Meschach and Obednego, we will soon be asked to bow down. Most everyone around us will be doing it and there will be intense pressure "to go along to get along." However, as surely as the line to the boxcar, this acquiescence ends in death. Do not think your country is immune because your particular idol promotes "liberty," "equality" and "fraternity" of mankind. These are the same words used during the French Revolution which resulted in massive slaughters and horrific violence against people of faith. It was ushered in by the "Age of Reason" which has shown us it is not reasonable at all. Soon enough there will be antiChrist figures on the scene demanding global compliance. They might be dressed in white, they might have an odd cross symbol on their attire or an armband but one thing is for sure: They will fall as surely as God reigns.

  Don't fall with them.
