Today is Day #37 of Counting the Omer.
37 in scripture, is the number often associated with "The Word of the Father." Note this verse that begins in John 8:
37:
I know that ye are Abraham's seed; but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father
: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father. They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. ~John 8:

As we Count the Omer, today we contemplate: Who is YAH? YAH is our Father and our Creator. He always was, always is and always will be. His Word endures forever. Unless our words align with HIS WORDS, our words will be gone like a puff of smoke one day.
Today, we often hear people start their theological opinion with..."Well I think"....and then espouse a completely non-Biblical viewpoint. Sometimes, when confronted with obvious sin and apostasy in the church, we may hear: Well, I think God understands everyone's unique situation." Where does this thinking come from, one might wonder? Where does the Bible say that certain sins are only applicable sometimes...it all depends on the circumstances? That's called Human Relativism, not Christianity. It all goes back to a WRONG understanding about the nature of mankind after the Fall and God's requirements for holiness.
Some people believe that God will grant a magic "free pass" to openly rebellious, self-professing Christians because, after all, God is so loving, kind and merciful that surely His Word does not apply in certain situations. The Truth is: GOD HAS ALREADY GIVEN EVERYONE A FREE PASS...His Name is Jesus Christ. Once you rip up that ticket, there isn't another "free pass" coming down the road when you continue to live in unrepentant rebellion. When He sets you free, you are free indeed, not free to continue in sinning but free to bring Him glory.
If we deliberately go on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the Truth, no further sacrifice for sins remains, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and raging fire that will consume all adversaries. ~Hebrews 10:26-27
And goes on to say:
He that despised Moses' Law died WITHOUT MERCY under two or three witnesses.
How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?
~ Hebrews 10:28-29
This entire passage of scripture CLEARLY states that it will be MUCH WORSE for those who spit on the gift of God's Grace by KNOWINGLY and DELIBERATELY sinning, than those who broke the Law.
I REPENT THAT I HAVEN'T PREACHED THIS ENOUGH! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME WE HEARD THIS MESSAGE PREACHED?
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from THE GREAT TRANSGRESSION. ~ Psalm 19:13 (emphasis added)
Despite relatively new hyper-grace theological drivel, scripture teaches us that some sins are GREAT transgression. These are DELIBERATE sins that PRESUME upon God's grace.
God help us all.
There's a book out on the market entitled: Good or God? In it, the author raises the question of whether every activity we are involved with is what we should be doing. Perhaps it is a very good moral question to raise, except that I really have a problem with the title of the book. It's a nonsequitor, the ultimate oxymoronic question. In fact, when pondered, it is really rather senseless. It's the equivalent of asking: "Do you prefer Water or H2O? Jesus or Christ?" God IS Good. There should be no "or" between the word Good and God. If there's no GOD in you and what you are doing...IT'S NOT GOOD. We will never know His ways completely, just as a sergeant, corporal or infantryman doesn't always know what the Commander-in-Chief is planning, but we go ALONG with whatever assignment He hands down to us.
Accordingly, certain theological circles have a recurring theme about the so-called "goodwill" of mankind. This is a critically important concept for us to understand. If we believe that fallen mankind is basically "good," then we are stating that mankind is capable of doing good without God. This is not a new concept. It is, in fact, the seed of apostasy found in ALL human secularist thought and atheistic thought.
"I think therefore I am" is the famous philosophical quote by Rene Descartes. (His name, by the way, loosely means "red discharge"). Apostasy and Marxism are the result of his red discharge teachings. Roman government is slowly becoming Socialist/Marxist and Roman religion is slowly heading for the Great Apostasy unless there is radical REPENTANCE! It all stems from this pernicious philosophical thought process. Instead scripture tells us:
All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all wither like a leaf, and our iniquities carry us away like the wind. ~ Isaiah 64:6
The Hebrew word for "filthy rags" is "iddah beged" which descriptively connotes "bloody menstrual cloth." A red discharge indeed. If we study up on Descartes' philosophy known as "Cartesian thought," we will find it is based on the so-called "logical analysis" and power of man's reasoning. While the scripture invites us to "reason," we are to reason ONLY WITH GOD'S TRUTH. Without God's ways (Light), we are nothing but an imploding star...a big black hole that will continue to fall inward. We become a Narcissus contemplating our image or a Pagan involved in demonic navel gazing.
Interestingly the word for "Navel-Gazing" is "Omphaloskepsis." This word comes from the Greek words "om" (a repetitive mantra), "phalos," (which means phallus, a symbol of man's power), and "skepsis" (an act of looking or examination). We can have another entire article on just the imagery of this alone...mankind constantly focused on his own pants or his own power.
This is also where we also get the word SKEPTIC and SKEPTICISM. It has demonic roots meaning NO FAITH. I find this scripture one of the most unsettling verses in the entire Bible:
Nevertheless when the Son of Man cometh, shall He find faith on the earth?
~ Luke 18:8 (b)
Despite what many in the pulpit prattle on about the "goodwill of mankind"...there is no such thing! Thus we get foolish navel-gazing statements such as "atheists have goodwill." Not only are atheists "not good"...neither is ANYONE good without Christ. Including you and me.
There is a recent excellent book entitled:
Apostate ~ The Men who Destroyed the Christian West. While we may not agree with every single one of the author's analyses, the overall point of the book is well taken. NAVEL GAZING MEN have steered the ship TOWARDS apostasy and AWAY from God. "Doctors of the Church" have doctored up the faith. We need to be restored by the Great Physician.
Without being rude, just honest...I should not care what you "think." Similarly, you shouldn't care what I think. As in Shakespeare's famous query, there is only one thing we should ask: "To be or not to be, that is the question." We need to "be" in Christ, The Word. Then, and only then, what we have to say has any GOOD in it.
Any other position results in the transgenderism of Christian thought. This thought process promotes the philosophy that no one can hold a Biblical opinion because it is too "extreme." There is no left/right, up/down, right/wrong until this concept continues to extend perniciously in attempting to erase Man/Woman and Christ/Bride. What remains is only some mushy middle depending on which way a man looks at it.
There is another name for this type of thinking and it is called "Human Secularism." It starts out by thinking that we are so bright that we have a better idea than what the Bible clearly states. Like the "Doctors of the Church" who have "doctored up" the Faith, we keep meditating on our own fallible thinking. We keep turning it around in our hand, admiring it...(My Precioussssss)...we become so enamored of it we can't let it go no matter how many people tell us that others have fallen from the Heavens by this very position. We must pray daily that we don't fall prey to this type of reasoning. We must always maintain a heart that "gives way" to the Holy Spirit and the Holy Word of God.
So, why is this so incredibly important? Because when we believe in the false goodness of mankind, we look to ourselves to fix our problems. As Obama once stated: "We are the ones we seek." Shudders. I can't think of a more creepy statement. Only God can save us. Instead of Cartesian thought of "I think, therefore I am", we should only wonder what YAH THINKS and this is found in His Holy Word. Let's meditate on this:
He is "I AM", therefore we think.
Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; And let him return to the LORD, and He will have compassion on him, and to our God, For He will abundantly pardon. ~ Isaiah 55:7
