A Role in the Community
John credits the local community for helping him through the learning curve of his first year in business. Permitting and approvals were made easy at the City of Sandusky, and the City's intentional efforts to promote arts and culture helped John make a successful home for his business. In addition, Halo Live received a $15,000 grant to make their space handicap accessible. There is no shortage of overlap between John’s goals and the City’s goals as they seek to energize this historic facility, providing local jobs and extending Sandusky's downtown vibe a little further south.
In addition to its economic development impact in the City, Halo Live is giving back to the community by working with youth to build work and lifestyle skills through the Midtown Supper Club. Beginning in January, Halo Live will be used four days per week for this after school youth development program including cooking, dance, and music recording.
