Bibi Inderjit Kaur - Wife of Yogi Bhajan.
Bibi Inderjit Kaur is the wife of Yogi Bhajan and the Bhai Sahiba of Sikh Dharma. For many of us, she has been our spiritual mother for most of our lives.
Bibi Inderjit Kaur was born on January 22, 1935, in the town of Wazirabad in the district of Gujranwala which is now part of Pakistan. She was born into a devout Sikh family with a powerful lineage of sacrifice and valor.

| Bibi Inderjit Kaur and Yogi Bhajan as a young couple |
Bibiji came to the United States with her three children in 1973, joining Yogi Bhajan on the mission of the Guru's Path. Many of us can remember her spending long days in the kitchen, serving endless plates of delicious food for the hungry young people that were always coming to see Yogi Bhajan. Bibiji went back to school and earned her PhD in counseling, serving the sangat with endless hours of compassionate listening and words of guidance. With a relentless devotion, she has fed, taught, counseled, consoled, guided, and cared for three generations of sangat in the West.
Col Jagjit Singh Guleria wrote about her, "As a wife, she is neither the 'better half', nor the 'other half' of Yogi Bhajan. Rather, she is a perfect profile of him - a harmonious blend of two souls." Those words now ring with the melody of truth as she serves the sangat in the years since the passing of Yogi Bhajan. The Akal Takhat Jethadar has honored her work in the west with the title Bhai Sahiba - the chief minister of Sikh Dharma International. She is known all over the world for her religious work, for her wisdom, for her philanthropy, and for her dignity. Look for her new book being published by KRI this summer -
Mantra - Personal Guidance through the Power of the Word.
"I have myself learned how to get rid of pain from my wife Bibiji. When anything happens to her the first thing she does is run to the
Guru
. She reads it and reads it and reads it until she knows that the pain is gone. It has worked very well because when you are low you need something high. There is nothing to feel frustrated about, there is nothing to feel bad about, just go page by page by page by page, by
sutra
by
sutra
, by verse by verse by verse. These verses are written in a way to get you to the
Guru
and to God, so that you can realize the feeling in you that God is Ultimate, not you."
